WINNIPEG TENPIN BOWLING ASSOCIATION
" THE 50th MARINELLI "
WINNIPEG CITY SCRATCH SINGLES CHAMPIONSHIP
March 14-15, 2009

Jason Borle - 2009 Champion, Receiving
congratulations from Ron Molinski and Ray Shuel
This was the 50th Anniversary of the Marinelli City Singles Championship tournament. And we had a very special start. Thanks to the efforts of one person in particular - Ray Shuel - we had a large number of past winners of this prestigious tournament come out for the opening ceremonies, including the winner of the very first one - 92 year-old Astor
Johnstone. What a treat!
The Marinelli has a lot of history, and to help us remember some of it, past winners, such as Astor, Paul
Yoshimasu, Bobby Mann, Wally Korkosh, and many others were there to help celebrate this special milestone.
Also, it is worth mentioning that this was a special milestone for Ray Shuel as well. Ray has competed in every one of these Championships since its inception. Ray, that is quite an achievement, and we hope that you can continue to participate in the Marinelli for many years to come.
